Hans-Joachim Guenther - owner and founder of PeriStrat GmbH - is a seasoned and highly experienced reinsurance executive. He has served as executive board member and Chief Underwriting officer for Gerling Global Re, Converium, Endurance and recently Asia Capital Re.
Hans-Joachim has successfully practiced building and managing multi-cultural teams as well as developing, implementing and executing business and underwriting strategies across multi-hub organizations. He has managed various market cycles, crisis and turn-around situations as well as the set-up of new offices. Hans-Joachim has created highly responsive matrix and networked organizations and is familiar with remote management of teams in multiple locations and different time zones. He is recognized for his communication and negotiation skills. More than 30 years of professional experience in Europe and Asia provide him with strong management capabilities combined with a deep understanding of global markets, underwriting and risk management as well as a broad network across the industry. Hans-Joachim holds a master in business administration from University of Cologne where he specialized in insurance, organization and computer science. He has the Swiss and German nationality. He is member of Arias Deutschland e.V. and registered arbitrator.
